And so it begins...

(please excuse the ramble before the rumble)

Deadlines set,
chapters outlined.
The writing starts,
and weeks begin to fall away.
15 weeks in all,
these will come and go.

A mere blink.

Yet, once again, it will feel like eternity.
Not quite the glimpse of eternity I long for.
This is the unsettling eternity
of a breath held under far too long,
that maddening panic hoping
you can make it to the surface
for another gasp, before
you are again pulled under.

This is the last breath before the dive.

Oh, for precious friends, and appointed moments
to come give light and succour,
point me in the way to go.
Questions, desperations, motifs.
One would think, the third time might be easier.
The damage, whence, becomes permanent.
